True mark of maturity

The one word always used to compel me to think i.e Maturity. To be frank, I was quite perplexed regarding it when my father used to say to my mother " your son is still childish and knows nothing about real life, he doesn't have common sense etc.etc. Bombardment of such questions by him used to make me angry in turn I was filled with a cocktail of negative emotions inside.Still, I think am I mature person?. It was quite a buzz word for me like is there any correlation between maturity and age, people under twenty are not mature. Is any age threshold to cross for anyone to become a mature person.Whenever I scroll FB, a beautiful quote often comes across "True mark of maturity is when one start understands little things rather than bigger ones " and this quote keeps repeating in the social circle sometimes. Even many times I kept as the profile picture of WhatsApp.

In  simple terms from my own observation and experience as my graduation is over

Maturity is
when we are able to differentiate between real life and reel life.focus on career rather on girl friend and boy friend.
When we stop Day dreaming and start working brutal hard work to achieve our aim in life.
When we care for parents and value our family because family is the biggest strength and supporting pillar, they are the ones who always stand with us, when rest of the people leave us.
When we learn the art of saying "NO" rather than being meek and passive.
When we learn to delete toxic people out of our life, who snatches our peace of mind.
When we learn to accept where we went wrong.
When we start responding and stop reacting.
When we offer a seat in metro or anywhere to old people and differently-abled people.
When we understand the difference between love, lust, and infatuation.
When we start following the traffic rules, stop litter the public place and not making any noise at public place unnecessary.
When we stop seeking attention and start seeking respect.
When we realize that scrolling on social networking sites is an utter waste of time.
When we stop ourselves from indulging in gossip and backbiting.
When we enjoy sometimes solitude rather than always depending on others for our happiness.
When we start complimenting people rather than being critical.
When we stop making fun of someone for their disabilities.
When we stop being judgmental and start accepting diversity in terms of food habits, lifestyle, looks religion and belief etc.
When we stop using bad and harsh language on internet.
When we stop ignoring people who really love us and care us.When we stop whining over trivial matters, complaining, comparing ourselves and criticizing others
Last but not least, when we learn to appreciate our own country and realize that this is our home, we have to live in and love it.
The list could be endless.

Are you a mature person? what do you mean by maturity? what is your maturity level?.Feel free to express your feelings in comment section.
Have a good time.
Thanks!
